Married too long?

Post by PHPaul »

For the last several weeks, I have essentially taken over the cooking and cleanup duties as the wife has been having some medical issues. (She's improving nicely once they figured out the appropriate meds).

We're both on somewhat restricted diets for one reason or another so menu choices are limited - no red meat, no dairy among other things. This makes coming up with any variety in what to make for supper a tad difficult.

For the last 4 days, without conferring at all, we've both come to the same decision about what to make. "We should have fried rice tonight" "Well, dang, that's exactly what I was thinking!"

Of course when you only have about a half-dozen choices anyway, I guess statistics and probability figure into it.

I like fried rice. We put a little pork in ours, canned mushrooms, and peas & carrots.

Chicken or pork, mushrooms, chopped celery, chopped bell peppers and just enough onion to add a little flavor.

Bell peppers, onion and celery. Ya got the cajun "trinity" going there. Just need some garlic, maybe just a hint.
