Latest storm

Post by GeneMO »

With all the fires out West, I aint complaining. But we had a bugger of a snow storm starting last Saturday evening. We lost power about 5:30 AM Sunday morning and it was out till about 4:00 PM. That Generac generator paid for itself. The wind was awful, 30-40 MPH. Bitter cold, zero at nights. 1/2" of ice, then topped off with about 8-9 inches of really dry snow. Looks like we will get almost 10 days with below freezing temps. The neighbor came by and blade out our half mile, dead end driveway through the timber. (Another reason Tammy points out that we need to move). Anyway, we were stocked up on everything. Had my tractor and loader in the heated shop. Plenty of firewood, and with the generator, we barely knew anything was going on. (Till we looked out the winder) So we survived. Better off than those in the Carolinas with hurricane damage, or the fires out West. Life goes on. Oh, and we have more snow predicted for tonight.

Had about six inches or so in SW Mo. Dry powdery snow not any wet to speak of. Went out last night moon and stars were bright. It was sure pretty. Just about as picture perfect. Today sun is bright and clear, snow is getting crusty. The best part is we are one day closer to spring, and day light hours are getting longer.
