Three days ago, Marlene got out of the gate and discovered the car had no brakes. Fortunately, she was good enough driver to get it stopped, put it in reverse and get it back in the garage. I went out there looked in the manual and he said the trouble light. The idiot light was indicating in a lot brake system and check the fluid level in the master. I did that and the master was low. I filled it up, started to call stomped on a break a dozen times it would pop up solid to the top, but then it would slowly bleed off to the floor. I stomped out in a whole bunch of times, and every time it would bleed off to the floor, so I figured there was probably a bunch of air in a lot because the fluid level got so low the key to use the car until Monday. Monday come along and the handyman got in the car to drive to the Kia shop and the damn thing had good operating great now portage can fix itself. Neither I know the people that care could figure out how it did that but anyway, she's still driving still.
Then last Thursday coming back from Cebu I discovered my electric wheelchair didn't wanna work anymore. No for no reverse no left no right nothing just like it was turned off of course I'm having a shit fit over this stuff. I jammed the joystick backward sideways upside down, unplug it throw it against the wall and started looking for somebody in town could fix it. We found a shop that I thought might be able to do something so I've been writing the manual with sure all weekend. My handyman went to put it in the trunk and take it to the shop and said it was working. I said you shouldn't me, but he wasn't the damn thing with functioning like we did when it was brand new. So we parked a hand operated wheelchair and went back to the electric and so far yesterday and today it's been working fine. About a year ago the microwave was smoking. I mean really smoking. I'm afraid of shit was gonna burn up. I unplugged it told the handyman to shit can it, went downtown and bought another one. Couple months earlier than that that microwave was messing up and a hammer twisted the top of it till it was bent. It started working fine again no smoke. Microwave work just fine. So smoking microwave got a trip to the trashcan.
Monday we had for Manila and come back on Thursday and I'm sure just the thought of going to the VA since my blood pressure a couple of knots higher. I'll be sure they'll let you guys know all the VA here in Manila pisses me off right about Friday.

Shit fixing
You guys stay safe and as happy as this life will allow.
Re: Shit fixing
I hate it when things quit working for no apparent reason, then start working again also for no apparent reason.
You never know when it will quit on you again and you have to be afraid to trust it.

Re: Shit fixing
When that does happen, I have a strong urge to get an 8 pound mall and really give it a reason for not working. And then I have to go spend money to buy another one. Our KiA Sportage is already seven years old. I was ready to buy another one when the cancer diagnosis raise its ugly head.
And that's when I realize that shit happens.

Washing machine did that. Started leaking, pulled the front off, found water around the base of the tub.
Dr. YouTube said agitator shaft seal. Fixit guys at the store I bought it from 10-ish years ago said "We'll try, but not a great success rate fixing that particular problem." It's a Speed Queen which is supposed to the the Cadillac of laundry appliances. Said "C'mon down, at least see if it'll come apart." Appointment scheduled for a week out.
Meanwhile, laundry is piling up. Out of desperation I said "Fuckit. If it leaks, it leaks, I need clean skivvies." Did three loads, including a heavy one with grotty jeans from shop work. Nary a drop. Hasn't leaked since. Canceled appointment.
Aggravating, but avoided a service charge, and more importantly a grand or so for a new washer.
