Water hoses (general discussion)

When I tend the horses for da boss, I'm not comfortable going in the stalls with one of them so boss man bought me one of those collapsible hoses that expand and contract as you pressurize them. They work pretty good and when you shut the hydrant off, it'll pretty well purge itself so that the next time there's minimal ice in it.

Yesterday at the farm store I spied a display of heated hoses. Pricey but it caught my eye. They claim it won't make hot or even warm water, just keep it thawed. I'm sure I'd have to unhook it from the non freeze hydrant but it sure sounds better than trying to drain a hose a couple times a day.

Anyone ever tried or used one?

Water hoses

Never tried a heated hose. However we have had a few of the collapsible ones and they never held up well for us. They would get a little piece of ice in them and then leak as the ice poked through.

But, if they work for you great.
