don't make a very big pile in the freezer :-(

Split half a beef critter with the dottir, went and picked it up this morning.

Got one last year from the same place, steaks and roasts were scrumptious. Had them change the cuts a little this year, less burger and stew meat. Might be sorry about that but push comes to shove, we can grind it ourselves. We still had 10 or 15 pounds of burger left from the last one.

If you don't mind my nosiness, is that total cost or do you pay the butcher as well? That is about what we charge per quarter but, I cover basic butchering costs.

$1288.51 for half a beef. Cut, vacuum packed and frozen. $2.69 a pound hanging weight.

Wow that seems kinda high. I sold a whole beef on the hoof for $1000 plus butcher fees to a friend. hanging weight was around 800#
