Shipping container

I am going to need storage if we are to pull of this whole sell the farm, move closer to the kids thing.

I am going to keep at least 8-10 acres to come back to hunt on.

So I purchased a 40' shipping container. Paid $3550 + $250 to have it delivered 30 miles. It is in pretty good shape. It will be as burgler proof as the lock I put on it. Plus I am putting it about 100 yards in back of my dads old house. Hopefully being that close to people will keep the meth heads at bay.

If that fails, I bought a package of those 12 gauge booby trap thingys. They are made for a 12 gauge blank. That will sure wake em up!

Gene,

I must have missed the story that you are selling your farm and moving closer to the kids. I’m sorry, but also know we may eventually do the same thing one day.

Sounds like you have a good plan, the shipping container idea is sound. I’m not familiar with any source for the booby traps, only know the basic construction of them. Can you link the source here? I could use some, they’d be very handy around my place in “the back four.” 😂

Good luck with your plan, hope it all works out.

Gene, to me, your moving to a new place sounds like a great adventure, a long vacation!

And moving closer to your kids is a good plan.. For me, living anywhere in the island is living close to my kids. lol

With all the bitter cold, ice and snow we have just had, I may consider moving down with you !

Gene, many north American families have been retiring/moving to PR in recent years running away from "the bitter cold".

So "Come on down!!"

Wonder what a place would cost me down there? Somewhat private, 2-3 bedroom, and in a safe secure neighborhood.
